Biography

After 10 wonderful years of living in the Marche region of Italy, I have returned to live in the UK to enjoy giving my sons a 'british experience'. I started life in Cape Town, South Africa, where I spent my childhood until the family moved to New Zealand.

After 3 years in Wellington and Auckland we moved again, this time to England. Here I finished school and read my degree at Durham University. Following a year and half spent in Japan, I finally settled in Italy… my lifelong dream. The countries I have experienced have all touched me and influenced me as a person, which in turn is reflected in my art.

Living amongst Italians, for example, in the sun, eating wonderful, simple, fresh food lends itself to inspirational creativity. The intensity of the light beating down on the local white stone on a hot summer’s day, contrasting with the cool, blue shade and shadows, is a dizzy concoction for a painter.

I believe that these feelings and intense experiences are reflected in my art with its various nuances and styles.
